November 2010

Welcome to the November edition of Endeavoring!

This month highlights the fun and festive activities held by Endeavor to kick off the holiday season. Starting with Halloween, several team members came to the office decked out in wild and creative costumes in hopes of winning stupendous prizes (but, more importantly, bragging rights) in the annual costume contest.

The Endeavor team also held its traditional Thanksgiving pitch-in luncheon, for which the company provides the main course of turkey and ham and each staff member brings in their best home-cooked dish. For more details on the happening holiday hoopla, be sure to check out the Company Spotlight for fun pictures and more!

Finally, don't miss details on the forthcoming NRF 99th Annual Conference and Expo taking place January 11th through the 13th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. If you plan on attending, please stop by Endeavor's booth, #2661; or if you are interested in attending, see the Upcoming Events section for information on how to receive a complimentary expo pass! Hope to see you there!

We hope you enjoy this special edition and that you had a relaxing Thanksgiving break! Until next time!

Spotlight

In keeping with its annual tradition, Endeavor has once again kicked off the holiday season in a very festive way, starting with its yearly Halloween celebration, which consists of a costume contest and smorgasbord of sweet treats. While a stranger to the Endeavor way of life may have thought it bizarre to see odd characters walking around the office - ranging from life-size whoopie cushions to talking cartoon sponges to Hershey kisses - this scene is par for the course for the team come late October.

After hours of deliberation in the war room, the costume contest committee chose three worthy winners. Allison, a team lead in the Service Provisioning department, turned heads as the one and only Marilyn Monroe. Chase, a member of the ESP Integration team, dressed up as the Cash Cow, decked out in full cow costume complete with udders as well as a snazzy dollar bill jacket, handing out fake dollar bills to everyone he passed in the hallway. Elyse in Administration looked sharp and super-heroic as Clark Kent/Superman.

As if the team wasn't gorged enough with the plethora of Halloween candy, cookies, and yummy warm cider, the Endeavor team also recently held its Thanksgiving pitch-in luncheon, where everyone brings in their best dish for their peers' eating enjoyment. Staff favorites included a delectable broccoli casserole, the ample spread of pies and other desserts, and, of course, the mouthwatering turkey and ham offerings provided by the company.

During this time of celebration and goodies, Endeavor has not forgotten those families in our area who are less fortunate. Endeavor staff members donated enough money to provide 13 Thanksgiving turkeys to local shelters.

These super fun and teambuilding events have primed the staff for December when more exciting activities are planned, including the very popular Secret Santa gift exchange and the interdepartmental holiday decorating contest. If the Halloween and Thanksgiving festivities are any indication, the holiday spirit will be in full force at Endeavor! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
