Busy Customer Pipeline for 2010 and first part of 2011 Strongly Indicates Real Improvement in Industry
As the country reeled through one of the worst economies in recent memory during 2008 and 2009, the telecommunications industry was certainly not immune, as many client staff reductions were made necessary by reduced order flow and the indefinite postponing of large scale end-user installation deployments. Through the seasonally slow holiday season and all of January, the Sales and Account Management teams at Endeavor have been busier than ever, working diligently with new and existing customers to plan and prepare for new rollouts and deployments that are taking off in 2010. Based on current projections, this year promises to be the busiest ever, as the plethora of new deployments waiting in the pipeline is staggering.
The expected increase in dispatch volume and overall revenue that will manifest throughout 2010 not only signifies an overarching ramp up period after the holiday lull but also suggests improving economic conditions. In fact, Endeavor is seeing more dispatches that are likely a result, either directly or indirectly, of the stimulus bill that was passed last year, as well as increased end-user confidence. For example, there has been an increase in dispatches pertaining to large scale infrastructure build outs and wireless installations in both rural and metro areas. Endeavor has also become more involved in the growing number of installation deployments for state and municipal end-users made possible by federal IT expenditures freed up by the stimulus bill.
Furthermore, Endeavor is seeing a shift in the needs of customers to handle increasing volume, another sign that economic conditions are improving. During 2009, it was not uncommon for companies to lower staffing levels to reduce overhead. Now that business is picking up, some customers are experiencing a lack of capacity in handling certain operational tasks that required fewer resources during slower times. Customers are working to craft creative ways of outsourcing ancillary functions to keep a variable cost model, access instant availability of capacity, and mitigate the risks associated of rebuilding bloated inflexible cost centers. In order to facilitate this, qualified Endeavor customers can take advantage of various ancillary support services that are available to alleviate these operational burdens. These services include end-user site readiness confirmation, enhanced acceptance testing, and 3rd party logistics.
As we look into the crystal ball that is 2010 and the first part of 2011, there is certainly a lot of reason for optimism. With signs of an improving economy, a customer pipeline stuffed to the brim with upcoming projects, and service offerings available to help customers alleviate any capacity issues that are experienced with increased volume, the coming months are sure to be exciting ones for Endeavor and its customers.
